Party Animal

Based on the phenomena of aposematism and mimicry in the animal world, the work Party Animal explores topics such as social phobia and social protection mechanisms. Just as animals with their spots, colors and patterns can signal danger to scare away predators, humans can use surface as armor in social contexts. The sculpture is visible and takes up space, but would rather blend into the wall and sink through the floor. The piece was shown at the group exhibition ”Spots” at Form & Designcenter in Malmö 2023, in collaboration with Konsthantverkscentrum.
